About our place nh

Our mission

At Our Place NH, our mission is simple yet urgent: to create lasting housing solutions for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We believe every person deserves a safe, welcoming home — not just a place to live, but a place to belong and thrive. By building residences rooted in dignity, independence and community, we’re offering peace of mind to families and a secure future to their loved ones.

Our Goal

Across New Hampshire, families of adults with IDD face the same question: What happens when we are no longer able to provide care? At Our Place NH, we are answering that question with real solutions. Our goal is to ensure a smooth, supported transition from family care to stable, reliable housing. Each residence is designed to nurture friendships, encourage independence and foster a strong sense of self-worth — because home should be where people thrive.

Who We Are

Our Place NH is led by Board Chair Laurie McIntosh and a dedicated board of directors. Guided by proven models like the VisionsNH “Toolkit,” we are adapting a successful approach to meet the needs of the Seacoast region. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are driven by community, powered by families and united by a shared vision: to redefine how New Hampshire supports adults with IDD.
